America, Support Israel as It Fights Our Common Enemy

If anyone needed a reminder that a common enemy threatens both Israel and the United States, look no further than this week's news. Iranian-supplied missiles strike Tel Aviv, while a bomb explodes aboard a city bus.

Today, Secretary of State Clinton continued her effort to push a "Cease Fire." Why? Is a cease-fire really the best outcome for Israel and the United States?

Who would benefit from a cessation in the current hostilities? What message would a cessation send to the terrorist organizations and sponsor-states that initiated the attacks on innocent Israeli citizens? Would a cease-fire not grant respite and potentially long-term impunity to the assailants? What message does this send to the Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and terrorists worldwide?

In President Bush's 60-Minutes Interview on 9/11, he stated, "We did not choose to enter this War." Nor did Israel voluntarily enter this conflict. For over two years, Hamas -- acting as Iran's proxy -- shot 2,000 missiles into Israel. Finally, Israel began to significantly strike back -- defending itself. In the past week, Israeli air strikes destroyed 1,000 long-range Iranian missiles that Hamas aimed at Israeli civilians. Why pressure Israel to stop now?

Hamas still has thousands more missiles in its arsenal. A cease fire would provide Hamas with a trophy for its efforts and a hand to threaten Israel in the future. Let Israel neutralize the terrorist group once and for all.

Some claim that Clinton interjected herself into this cease-fire initiative in an attempt to make Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood President Morsi look good. Brokering a cease-fire would help Morsi legitimize the Muslim Brotherhood's claim of being a, "Peaceful Organization." Is that a part of Clinton's agenda -- making the Muslim Brotherhood look good?

The cease-fire is certainly not in Israel or the US' interests. Contact the White House and tell them that the United States must continue to support Israel's right of self-defense. A decimated Hamas increases the security of Israel and the American people.
